Monzio Compagnoni, Franciacorta Brut Millesimato (2013)

5 in stock

Color: straw yellow with light green hints, abundant foam and extremely fine perlage Perfume to stand out are evident, and sustained, hints of bread crust, biscuit, dried fruit (especially toasted almond) flanked by the more delicate ones of golden apple and pear, has remarkable envelopment and richness

Flavor: the fresh and acid sensations are balanced by a vanilla softness and, more on the nose, of ripe apple, which fills and accompanies the palate for a long time; the mouth finish however returns to be lashing and gritty

Elements of wine making technique
5 to 10% of wine spends six months in barriques and the liquer de tirage. After a minimum refinement period of 37 months from the harvest, it is disgorged; subsequently the bottle is dressed and undergoes aging for six months before being marketed

Two wineries, two names, even two surnames. But one soul production, embodied by Marcello Monzio Compagnoni, winemaker not by chance but by choice or by necessity of life. Starting from scratch, without the support of family tradition, but for this free of the constraints that inevitably may result, has succeeded in carving out a prominent place in the wine world. There could interpret the craft of the winemaker with an open mind, modern and pragmatic, finding the right balance between a passionate vision and a polished approach to business.
