DESCRIPTION
O’Lillo means “hello, my beautiful friend,” and this special Italian offering from Tuscany engenders that reaction upon experiencing it.
The wine was put into conical oak tanks for 22 days for maceration and malolactic fermentation, followed by six months in stainless steel tanks to complete alcoholic fermentation and then an additional three months in bottles.
O’Lillo is rich in color and has a nose experience similar to a fantastic Bordeaux, but is soft yet complex on the palate, presenting cherries, blueberries without the sugar, licorice, vanilla, chocolate and a touch of tobacco. Intensely fruit-forward and accessible with soft tannins.
This intricate wine is well-paired with grilled meat, lasagna, rich pastas and risotto.
HERE’S WHAT WE LIKE ABOUT IT: It’s different from all of the Super Tuscans we sell. This one has an equal blend of 4 varietals and the Syrah gives it a really nice finish. Baracchi’s make world class wines in the heart of Cortona. Their resort is second to none and boasts a Michelin Star Restaurant on property, the Il Falcionere.
