Sangiovese comes partly from vineyards over 20 years old and partly from a recently planted vineyard; the harvest is done in September after a first selection of the grapes already carried out at the end of July. The alcoholic fermentation with consequent maceration of the skins is carried out in steel for about 21 days, at controlled temperature. It matures in half new French barriques for 12 months, where it also performs malolactic fermentation. Bottle aging continues for at least 6 months.
Beautiful ruby color of great liveliness. Fragrances that start from a pleasant balsamic note and develop on tones of undergrowth fruits such as blackberry and raspberry, wildflowers such as perfectly recognizable violet, the passage in barrique releases hints of vanilla and light roasting. On the palate it is intense, fresh, fruity but also solid, compact and engaging: definitely in line with the sense of smell.
